These simple, yet hard to find adaptors allow for the sitting of H4 bulbs with the current P45t base (the one with the 3 prongs) to earlier headlamps with the P43t base, typically found on pre'73 vehicles.  The use of 'conversion bulbs' has been the most common way to acheive this, but the conversion bulbs are not generally available in local Auto stores.  Fitting these adaptors not only means that replacement bulbs can be sourced locally, but offers up ability to fit any of the many brighter halogen/xenon bulbs widely available.
