Throttle linkage kit, RHD - Type 2, 72>76
Part Number: BB-087
This kit made by Buttys bits in the UK is a great upgrade to any right hand drive bay window bus from 1972 to 1976. The kit is a bolt on replacement of the original accelerator linkage and gives a much smoother feeling to the accelerator pedal.

The original kits are based on a steel rod inside a loose fitting steel tube that get very notchy. This kit is very similar but has internal roller bearings so less play/slop. It is a very smooth system. Also the kit has several other modifications done to it. At the cable end there are now three different locations to give more pull or less pull on the cable, so caters for stock engines and modified setups.

There is also the added bonus of a return spring that will reset the pedal, and take the pressure off the carb return springs. At the pedal end there is now a rose jointed linkage that goes to the pedal, a lot more positive to the old S shaped pushrod, this is also adjustable. The whole kit has been black plated so long lasting coating with a high salt resistance.

Throttle linkage kit, RHD - Type 2, 69>72
Part Number: BB-062
This kit made by Buttys bits in the UK is a great upgrade to any right hand drive bay window bus from 1969 to 1972. The kit is a bolt on replacement of the original accelerator linkage and gives a much smoother feeling to the accelerator pedal.

This part of the kit is the main wear area on 1969 to 1972 buses, the kit mounts to the throttle pedal then goes down through the cab floor to the main swivel section. These kits have sealed roller bearings that allow everything to rotate nice and smoothly. Kit also has a double ended rose joint rod that if you feel needs adjusting you can.

The kit has recently been uprated with a new stainless steel top hat section. These come as standard with every kit. You will need to remove the original steel mount then bolt this stainless mount up in its place. Comes with four stainless steel bolts nuts and washers. Make sure when bolting up, the pushrod from the pedal is centered in the hole in the floor.

Also these joints are encased inside a rubber boot to keep all of the dirt out as your front wheel is situated right behind the joint. (Also makes it easier to squirt a bit of lubricant in there from time to time).

Throttle kit, RHD - Type 2, 55>67
Part Number: BB-012
This kit made by Buttys bits in the UK is a great upgrade to any right hand drive splitscreen bus from 1955 to 1967. The kit is a bolt on replacement of the original accelerator linkage and gives a much smoother feeling to the accelerator pedal.

Fitting instructions:
Remove the old cross shaft, push rod from the pedal and disconnect the throttle cable. Then clean the two square lugs where the original cross shaft went through the two holders, the new kit fits over the two square lugs allowing two bearing carriers to hang just below the original holders. The kit has to be fitted as it comes assembled. Remove the mounting bolts and fit the square washer over the square lug then fit the square bearing holder over the same lug and bolt up, leave loose while you set the cross shaft position then tighten up and make sure the new assembly moves without rubbing or catching on any other components. Now connect the pedal then the accelerator cable. The bearings will give a far smoother feeling to your accelerator pedal. Also the end plates are 20mm taller than the standard setup so it allows full throttle to be achieved easier on twin carb`d hex bar setups. The kit can be altered if you require less cable travel.
